Grand Charity Pig Race.

Bro Ronnie Crowe ROH has passed on the results of the Yn Droghad Lodge Grand Charity Pig Race held before Christmas which raised a total of £950. £300 of that total was passed to the Glen Glades Charities. The remaining £650 added to the Lodges charity fund allowing the lodge to donate £500 to the Praxis ( Isle of Man ). and a further £500 to Oskers Dream. This is a grand total of £1300 to local charities in the year 2009. This is not with standing there help and donations to other Lodges on the Isle of Man including the Knights Chapter who with there help raised £5500 for the Hospital. Not the largest Lodge but showing they have one of the largest Hearts for those in need on the Island.

All monies have now been passed to the charities.

This year they have chosen "Wish Upon A Dream" another local charity.

Bro Bob Gibson KOM Laid to rest

What an honour it was today to attend the funeral of Bro Bob Gibson KOM. It was a full Buff funeral with his brother giving a little insight of Bob before last years PGP of the Isle of Man Bro. Graham Ross ROH gave his eulogy. Never have I been more moved by a brother than that of Bro Graham. He spoke on Bro Bob as one of his 2009 Officers.
The Funeral Marshall Bro Shaun gave a word perfect service followed by the singing of absent Brethren and the broken. There are times above all other times one is proud to be a member of of the RAOB, and this was such a time. With over twenty Brothers in the link Brother Bob was given justice, and we were able to say Good Bye to a good Brother of the Order. I would like to add that both his 93 year old Dad and 92 year old Mum were there along with his Brother and Sister, and they were moved by Buff Funeral given to there son. God Bless you Bro Bob where ever you are, and i trust that you are in the Grand link above, and I know you will have lots to say.
