Grand Charity Pig Race.

Bro Ronnie Crowe ROH has passed on the results of the Yn Droghad Lodge Grand Charity Pig Race held before Christmas which raised a total of £950. £300 of that total was passed to the Glen Glades Charities. The remaining £650 added to the Lodges charity fund allowing the lodge to donate £500 to the Praxis ( Isle of Man ). and a further £500 to Oskers Dream. This is a grand total of £1300 to local charities in the year 2009. This is not with standing there help and donations to other Lodges on the Isle of Man including the Knights Chapter who with there help raised £5500 for the Hospital. Not the largest Lodge but showing they have one of the largest Hearts for those in need on the Island.

All monies have now been passed to the charities.

This year they have chosen "Wish Upon A Dream" another local charity.

Lets all support the wonderful work which the Yn Droghad Lodge is carrying out Thanks to Ronnie Crow for passing on this information.

Sir Billy Littlewood

What a splendid evening for the raising of Bro Billy Littlewood. Billy was to be honoured with 14 Grand Lodge officers of their year, including our Deputy Grand Primo Bro Hayden Bennett ROH and the Grand Primo of 2008 Bro JJ Wilson ROH.

The Venue was the RAOB Club in Ramsey here on the Isle of Man with the lodge opening at 7.30.

The ceremony was carried out by Bro Overston Wendall Hinds ROH Grand Tyler 2003 assisted by the officers of the Isle of Man Knights chapter and Castle Knights Chapter, and the Provincial Grand Lodge Officers of the Isle of Man. Bro Shaun Gilmartin ROH PPGP his sponsor gave a rousing account of Bro Billy's career in the order and was able to give an honest and full account of a very worthy Brother. The most enjoyable ceremony was carried out by Bro Wendall and he returned with the new Knight, Sir Billy Littlewood KOM who received a toast from the installing officer and in turn thanked all those who made it an evening to remember.
